HOW IT WORKS
Host or Ambassador? It's your choice. Whether you spend a week as an ambassador in another house
or serve as a host in your own community, this program offers you the chance to learn how other
houses conduct their fund development programs, market their services, coordinate their volunteers,
or handle everyday operational issues. This hands-on experience may be one of the most rewarding
weeks you'll ever spend.
HOSTS
To serve as a host, your house provides:
Accommodations (preferably in a private home) and hospitality for a visiting ambassador during the
stay in your community.
An appropriate workspace for your ambassador and an opportunity to learn from the experience as
well as to share personal expertise with you.
As a host, you can take advantage of your ambassador's experience or their objectivity. Ask for
his or her support and counsel. Involve the ambassador in your daily routine. Make him or her
a part of your team.
AMBASSADORS
As an ambassador, you provide:
Your own transportation to and from your host community.
As an ambassador, whether new to the hospitality house concept or an experienced veteran, you have
something to learn and somethingto share with your host. Support your host/house with your ideas or
discover a fresh approach to an old or common problem.
